1. Naked Mole Rat
Naked Mole Rat is one of the ugly animals whose scientific name is Heterocephalus glaber and native to the Horn of Africa and parts of Kenya, notably in Somali regions. These animals with small eyes also known as a sand puppy closely related to the blesmols and is the only species in the genus Heterocephalus. The body length of typical species can grow between 8 to 10 cm in length and weigh between 30 to 35 grams. The avarage lifespan of the naked mole rat is bigger than any other rodent species and goes upto 37 years.
2. Blobfish
Blobfish is one of the ugly fishes in the world that belongs to the family of fatheads. The fish species are found in Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand. The body length can grow upto 12 inches in length and the average weight is upto 20 pounds. Talking about appearance, they have a big head huge mouth with drooping corners, beady eyes, and a big nose (actually a flap of skin). Also, they have loose, pink skin covered with spines instead of scales. The dietary habit is carnivorous and feeds on crustaceans, sea urchins, shellfish, and sea pens.
3. Proboscis Monkey
Proboscis Monkey is one of the ugly monkeys in the world endemic exclusively to the island of Borneo in southeastern Asia. They prefer to thrive in coastal areas, covered with mangroves and swamp forests and always near water bodies of their home range. The male species in the group defend thier group by exposing their teeth and emitting loud, honking signals, however, females are responsible for foraging and caring for infants. These types of monkeys have a polygynous mating system, where the dominant male mates with females in a troop. It is also listed as one of the animals with the biggest lips in the world.
4. Aye-aye
Aye-aye is a long-fingered lemur native to the rainforests in Madagascar. The body length can grow between 30 to 40 cm in length and the average weight is between 2 to 2.7 kilograms. This is the world’s largest nocturnal primate that comes with a unique occurrence. Initially, when it was discovered, it was considered to be a large squirrel, however, finally recognized in the mid-1800s as being a member of the Lemur family. The primary diet includes fruits, nectar, honey, fungi, seeds, larvae, insects, and eggs. The avarage lifespan of Aye aye is upto 23 years in the wild.
5. Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat
The northern hairy-nosed wombat is one of the ugly baby animals of Australian marsupials known as wombats. The body length is between 80 to 100 cm and the average weight is between 30 to 32.5 kilograms. The species is critically endangered and the historical range extends from across New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland as recently as 100 years ago, now, it is restricted to the Epping Forest National Park in Queensland. The dietary habit is herbivorous and feeds on roots, herbs as well and various grasses. The average lifespan of a northern hairy-nosed wombat is upto 25 years in the wild.

6. Star-Nosed Mole
Star-Nosed Mole’s scientific name is Condylura cristata found in the low areas in the northern parts of North America. The body length of the star-nosed mole is between 15 to 20 cm and the average weight is between 35 to 75 grams. This animal species is a very distinctive mammal that comes with black fur and has wide forefeet tipped with talons that are designed for digging. Star-nosed Mole are diurnal animals and are active throughout the year. The avarage lifespan of star-nosed mole is between 2 to 4 years in the wild.
7. Naked-faced barbet
The naked-faced barbet’s scientific name is Gymnobucco calvus which belongs to the family Lybiidae. These bird species are found in Afrotropics and rely on flight to move around. Initially, it was placed in Bucconidae (puffbirds), however, later it was split and it may be added to the expanded Ramphastidae (toucans). They are found in the different regions of Angola, Benin, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, DRC, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Togo.

8. Marabou Stork
The Marabou Stork is one of the weirdest birds in the world is a large wading bird that breeds in Africa. The avarage height of Marabou Stork is between 120 to 10 cm in length and the average weight is between 4.5 to 8 kilograms. The avarage lifespan of the Marabou Stork is between 25 to 41 years in the wild. These animals with gular pouches are massive birds because of their size, bare heads, and necks, huge bills, pink gular sacs at their throats, and neck ruff. Both males and females look alike, however, the young bird is browner and has a smaller bill.
9. Shoebill
A shoebill is a large bird that can grow 5 feet tall, and 4 feet long, reaching 1.5 pounds in weight. Talking about appearance, the body of the bird species is covered with bluish-grey plumage and has a strong neck, long legs, and broad wings. One of the ugly baby animals whose most prominent feature on the shoebill’s body is its beak. The size of the beak is 9 inches long and 4 inches wide. It prefers to build its nests amid swamp grasses where the female lays one to three eggs. The avarage lifespan of a shoebill is up to 35 years in the wild.
10. Giant Salamander
Giant Salamander is one of the ugly baby animals and is a family of fully aquatic salamanders commonly known as the giant salamanders. The animal species is native to China, Japan, and the eastern United States. Salamnders vary in size Minute salamander is the smallest salamander, reaching only 1.1 inches in length and Chinese giant salamander is the largest salamander, reaching over 6 feet in length. It depends on whether the female lays one, two, or a couple of hundred eggs during a single mating season.
