The Lesser Goldfinch is a very small bird based in the United States. The bird species is closely related to the American goldfinch and Lawrence’s goldfinch. The body length ranges between 9 to 11 cm and the average weight is between 8 to 11.5 grams. Its total wingspan is upto 20 cm. During the winter season, it migrates to colder parts of its U.S. range. The Scott’s Oriole scientific name is Icterus variorum and is a medium size icterid mostly seen in countries such as Mexico, Canada, and the United States. The avarage lifespan of Scott’s Oriole is upto 6.5 years. Initially, the bird was named by an American soldier and naturalist Darius N. Couch in honor of General Winfield Scott. The body ranges upto 9.1 in and the average weight is between 1.1 to 1.4 grams. The total wingspan of one of the yellow birds with black wings is upto 12.6 inches and prefers habitats where yuccas are plentiful, often on steep hillsides.

Talking about its appearance, it has yellow underparts along with dark streaks on the flanks and olive overparts with rusty streaks on the back. The Western Tanager is an American songbird that belongs to the tanager family. The body ranges between 16 to 19 cm in length and the average weight is between 24 to 36 grams. The shape of plumage and vocalization is similar to the other members of the cardinal family. Western Tanagers are solitary birds and only spend time in pairs during the breeding season and migrate in groups of up to 30 individuals. 11. Wilson’s Warbler

Wilson’s Warbler is one of the green and yellow birds that can grow upto 5 inches and avarage wieght is upto 11 grams. Talking about its appearance, they are greenish above and yellow below along with rounded wings and a long, slim tail.  The male species comes with black crown patch, however, this is not president in the females. The primary diet includes insects gleaned from leaves and twigs, or caught by flycatching such as beetles, bees, or caterpillars.

12. Canada Warbler

The Canada warbler scientific name is Cardellina canadensis  is a small boreal songbird that belongs to the  New World warbler family (Parulidae). This is a migratory bird who spends summers in  Canada and northeastern United States, however, move to northern South America in winters. It is also sometimes known as necklaced warbler because of the band of dark streaks across its chest.  The primary diet includes beetles, mosquitoes, flies, moths, and smooth caterpillars such as cankerworms, supplemented by spiders, snails, worms, and, at least seasonally, fruit. 13. Magnolia Warbler

Magnolia Warbler is one of the yellow birds with black wings found in the northern parts of some Midwestern states and the very northeastern parts of the US. The bird species undergoes multiple molts during its lifetime. The first one comes while the young offspring are still living in the nest, however, the rest will take place on or near their breeding grounds. The black-throated green warbler scientific name is a small songbird that belongs to the  New World warbler family. The body length is between 11.5 to 14 cm and avarage wieght is upto 9 grams. Talkinga bout the appearance, they have an olive-green crown along with a yellow face with olive markings and a thin pointed bill. The adult male species cam be identified with the help of a black throat and upper breast, however, females have a pale throat and black markings on their breast. The avarage lifespan of black-throated green warbler  is upto 6 years in the wild.

16. Kentucky Warbler

The Kentucky warbler scientific name is Geothlypis formosa is a small species of New World warbler and used to spend most of the time on on or near the ground, except when singing. Talking about the appearance, they are mostly an olive-green in color on their back and nape along with brilliant yellow below from their throat to belly. The female species can be identified with the help of  slightly less black on the sides of their head and immature birds have no black at all. The avarage lifespan of Kentucky warbler is upto 6.5 years in the wild.
