1. Canada goose
The Canada goose is a large goose species native to the Arctic and temperate regions of North America. The body size is between 75 to 110 cm in length and the average weight is between 2.4 to 6.5 kilograms. The Canada goose can be identified by a white mark on their beak, near their chin. and a white U-like band on their rump. The bird species is diurnal which is active during the day and spend a lot of time grazing and foraging. The primary diet includes grass, leaves, roots, seeds, berries, and algae. The avarage lifespan of a Canada goose is between 12 to 26 years.
2. Greylag goose
The greylag goose also known as graylag goose is a large goose species that belongs to the waterfowl family Anatidae. The body size is between 76 to 89 cm and the average weight is between 2 to 4,.5 kilograms. They are gregarious birds and are seen in flocks. The primary diet includes leaves, berries, water plants, gleaning grain on cereal stubble, and sometimes feeding on growing crops such as oats, wheat, barley, buckwheat, lentils, peas, and root crops. The avarage lifespan of a greylag goose is between 20 to 30 years in the wild.
3. Snow Goose
Snow Goose is one of the famous white birds in Florida which is native to North America. The bird species is covered with white feathers, however, they aren’t always white and also have the name of blue goose. The bird species migrate from northeast Canada all the way to and from the Gulf of Mexico. 4. Swan Goose
The swan goose is one of the types of geese mostly seen in inland Mongolia, northernmost China, and the Russian Far East. The body length is between 81 to 94 cm and the average weight is between 2.8 to 3.5 kilograms. The avarage lifespan of swam goose is upto 10 years in the wild. Theta is a social bird and can be seen in small flocks outside the breeding season. The greater white-fronted goose is one of the different types of geese closely related to the smaller lesser white-fronted goose. Their body length is between 64 to 81 cm and their average weight is between 1.9 to 3.3 kilograms. The goose species is named after the patch of white feathers bordering the base of its bill, in fact, albifrons come from the Latin albus “white” and frons ” forehead”. The bird species breeds in six breeding areas, including interior Alaska, the North Slope of Alaska, western Northwest Territories, western Nunavut, central Nunavut, and eastern Nunavut. They are hardy birds that fly from India through the Himalayan range, above Mount Everest, on their way to their nesting grounds in Tibet. They are able to migrate more than 1609 km (1,000 mi.) in a single day. It is also listed as one of the animals that travel the farthest.
9. Cackling Goose
Cackling Goose looks identical to Canada geese except for the fact that they are smaller and have a proportionately smaller bill. They prefer to thrive in wetlands, city ponds, lakes, and wet grassy or agricultural fields. The primary diet includes aquatic vegetation, grasses, grains, insects, mollusks, crustaceans, and occasionally small fish. They are seen in Tennessee and found in flocks.
10. Tula Fighting Goose
The Tula Fighting Goose is one of the types of geese that have ash-brown plumage color along with mighty and solid necks at the base. They have a powerful trunk and robust back which is the same as the chest and the belly. The goose species comes from central Russia and prefers to farm around central Europe. The primary diet includes fresh and soft grass, therefore, if there is the possibility of grazing the birds, they can be kept in the pasture. The breeding season begins in February for most adult females whereas younger specimens will do so a few weeks later.
