6. Gouffre Mirolda- 5,692 feet (1,735 meters)
Placed in the village of Samoens, France Gouffre Mirolda cave has a depth of around 5692 feet which makes it the sixth-deepest cave in the world. Marc Degrinis discovered this superlative cave in 1971 and was measured to be the deepest natural cave till July 2004. If measured in terms of depth, Gouffre Jean-Bernard Cave is marked as the seventh number because of its depth of 5686 feet which is known till now. Sited close to the city of Samoens in the Alps, France this wonderful cave is having 13 doorways. After the efforts of French explorers naming the Groupe Vulcain group, this cave was finally explored in 1963 and was even named after two members of this group named Jean Dupont and Bernard Raffy.

One of the deepest caves in Spain which is also renowned for the eighth number in terms of deepness among all the caves of the world is Torca Del Cerro del Cuevon. Till now the depth of this cave is known to be 5213 feet and has a very intricate area to travel. Along with the Karst system, two connected bays of Picos de Europa in its Central area are also present.

The cave known to be the ninth number in terms of its depth is Hirlatzhohle cave and it was explored firstly in 1949. Not only is it the second deepest cave, but also in Australia, this cave is positioned as the third number in terms of its greatness. This 6120 feet deep cave is enlarged over an area of 70 miles and is made up of limestone. It’s not an easy task to explore all the six entrances of this cave as the only way to reach there is by swimming under the ground. Sistema Huautla cave Situated in the Sierra Mazateca Mountains of Mexico, Sistema Huautla is renowned as the tenth deepest cave among all the caves. Along with various lakes, rivers, and pools, a small number of waterfalls over 300 feet tall also flow inside this cave making it more interesting. With over 17 entrances, this cave requires several days to be completely explored and to reach the bottom. Various efforts are being made now to explore the Sistema Huautla cave which has a depth of almost 5118 feet.
