1. Hyacinth macaws

Also named as the hyacinthine macaw, the Hyacinth macaw is a bird living in the woodland, palm marshes, and wooden dwellings of Central and Eastern South America. Weighing up to 1.2-1.7 kg and with a body length of almost 100 cm, this bird loves to eat fruits, nectar, nuts, and seeds. Living nearly for 50 years Hyacinth macaw’s upper body is covered with blue feathers, a gray neck, a large beak, and strong but short legs. Because of the striking blue body and yellow covering of eyes, this bird appears extremely adorable and cute and is also very smart, spoken, intellectual and inquisitive.

2. Blue and black tanager

Found in the tropical and sub-tropical temperate forests of Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Ecuador, the Blue, and black tanager has a nearly blue body with black elongated wings, brown eyes, a tiny thick beak, and a mask with a blue wing bar. Feeding on fruits, Blue and black tanager weighs nearly 18 grams and has a length of 13 cm. Propagating from February to August, the female species are relatively dull than the males.

3. Indigo buntings

Indigo buntings is one of the birds of North Carolina residing in the farm lands, weedy areas, and open woods of Europe, North, South, and Central America, Indigo bunting grows 4.7 to 5 inches long and weighs 14.7 grams. This beautiful, little, songbird having males in bright blue and females in the dull brown shade is also well-known for its high-pitched voice which is clearly audible. This black bird with a blue head spends its life of 10-15 years singing in numerous refreshing and soothing tones and feeds on berries, stems, grasses, seeds, insects, moths, and caterpillars.

4. Blue jay

The blue and white bird can grow between 9-12 inches long with a weight of 0.07-0.11 kg, Blue Jay is found in forests of Eastern North America. With a crest, tail, and wings covered with blue feathers along with a mixture of black, white, and blue stripes on the wings and tail and gray belly, this bird appears extremely attractive. By having a variety of fruits, nuts, seeds, and small animals for growth and survival, it lives up to 20 years. A 14-17 cm lengthy bird with a weight of 26-31.5 grams residing on the shrubs and various trees of North America and Mexico is Blue Grosbeak. These black and blue birds in the world have a diet of insects like spiders, ants, worms, berries, and seeds it survives just for 6 years. With males having blue bodies and females with a shade of brown along with dark brown eyes and gray legs, this tiny bird is worth watching. 7. Belted kingfisher

A body of 11-13.8 inches long with a weight of 140-170 grams, belted kingfisher has a colorful body with variations of blue, white, and brown feathers. Males usually have a white area under the abdomen and neckline while females have a brown area under the abdomen and hence are considered larger and more colorful than males.

This cute and adorable bird has a lifespan of 14 years in which it eats various tiny fishes, shrimps, tadpoles, amphibians, lizards, nestlings, and many other insects. It can be visualized in the ponds, lakes, rivers, and forests of North America, Northern Canada, and Greenland flying at a speed of 36 mph. 8. Eastern Bluebird

With blue upper parts, white abdomen, blue and gray shades in feathers of wings and tail, circular eyes, black bill, and short legs; an Eastern Bluebird appears extremely sweet and adorable. With a melodic voice, it is found singing in the farmlands, open woodlands, and orchards of Southern Canada and Southeast Arizona to Nicaragua.

This 6.3-8.3 inches long bird with a weight of 0.059-0.075 lb depends on various insects, beetles, grasshoppers, mealworms, and crickets for growth. Living for 6-10 years the male species of this bird can even sing 1000 songs in just one hour to please its companion.

9. Mountain Bluebird

Mountain Bluebird is one of the blue colored birds and fluffy animal living in tree cavities, burned areas, mountain meadows, nest boxes, open country, and Prairie-forest intersections of Western North America, South-central Mexico, and Northern Alaska, Eastern Bluebird feeds on different insects, butterflies, spiders, grasshoppers, earthworms, and young insects.

With a body weight of 26-50 grams along with a 6.3-7.9 inches long body, it can live up to 10 years. 10. Western Bluebird

A tiny feathery bird with a light blue upper body, and cream-white underpants along with shades of orange and brown on its gullet and other areas, the Western Bluebird is found mostly in the forests of North America and Mexico. Growing nearly 16-19 cm long and weight 23-32 grams, it nourishes by eating different insects, berries, fruits, and seeds. It also has elongated and pointed claws with a prickly and straight beak. 11. Blue-headed Pionus

The Blue-headed Pionus also known as a blue-headed parrot is a medium size parrot species that can grow upto 27 cm in length. It is mostly seen in tropical and subtropical South America and southern Central America, from Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Trinidad south to Bolivia and Brazil. The average wieght is between 234 to 295 grams. The avarage lifespan of Blue-headed Pionus is upto 40 years. The dietary habits are herbivores in nature and feed on fruit, seeds, flowers, and sometimes grain.

12. Blue Waxbill

The blue waxbill is called by different names such as southern blue waxbill, blue-breasted waxbill, southern cordon-bleu, blue-cheeked cordon-bleu, blue-breasted cordon-bleu, and Angola cordon-bleu. This is the most common estrildid finch found in Southern Africa and kept as an aviary bird. It can grow between 12 to 14 cm in length and feeds on grass seeds, which are taken from the inflorescences. The avarage lifespan of Blue Waxbill is between 5 to 7 years.

13. Red-flanked Bluetail

The red-flanked bluetail also known as orange-flanked bush-robin is a small bird that belongs to the thrush family Turdidae. The bird species can grow between 13 to 14 cm in length and the average weight is between 10 to 18 grams. It breeds in northern Asia, and northeastern Europe, from Finland east across Siberia to Kamchatka and south to Japan. Both males and females have blue tails, and rumps along with orange-red flanks, and greyish-white underparts.

14. Tree Swallow

The Tree Swallow is a migratory bird that belongs to the Hirundinidae. The blue and white bird is mostly seen in the Americas and was first described by French ornithologist Louis Vieillot as Hirundo bicolor.  The body length of a tree swallow is between 12 to 14 cm in length and the average weight is between 17 to 25 grams. The avarage top speed of a tree swallow is upto 69 km/h and the wingspan is between 30 to 35 cm in length. The avarage lifespan of a tree swallow is 11 to 13 years in the wild. 15. Black-throated Blue Warbler

The black-throated blue warbler is a small passerine bird that belongs to the New World warbler family. The bird species can grow upto 13 cm in length and the average weight is 9 to 19 grams. The breeding range of bird species is in the regions of deciduous and mixed coniferous forests in eastern North America.  The Bird species primarily feeds on invertebrates such as caterpillars, crane flies, and spiders.  The avarage lifespan of a black-throated blue warbler is upto 10 years.

16. Lazuli Bunting

The lazuli bunting is a songbird that belongs to North America. The body length of lazuli bunting is between 13 to 15 cm and the average wieght is between 13 to 18 grams. The breeding region of bird species is from southern Canada to northern Texas, central New Mexico and Arizona, and southern California. It primarily feeds on seeds and insects.  The lifespan of Lazuli bunting is upto 5 years in the wild.
