1. American Black Bear

The American black bear is a medium-sized bear species that is endemic to North America. The height of the body grow between 1.3 to 1.8 meter and the average wieght is between 100 to 270 kilograms. It is the smallest and most widely distributed bear species. The primary diet includes nuts and fruits in the trees, plucking them with their prehensile lips, and on the ground, they eat grasses, bulbs, and roots, as well as small animals like rodents and insects.  The average lifespan of an American black bear is between 10 to 30 years in the wild. It is also listed as one of the chaparral animals in the world.

2. American Crow

The American crow is one of the popular birds in North Carolina and is the New World counterpart to the Carrion crow and the hooded crow. These bird species are very intelligent and can easily adapt to human environments. Talking about the appearance, they have shiny feathers and the bills are black, solid, and bent towards the end. Both young and adult crows are the same size, however, the eyes of the young species are blue and the mounts are pink from the inside and the adult species get their eyes and mouths become darker.

Ancona Chicken is one of the most popular black animals in the world that takes its name from the eastern Italian City of Ancona. It is also believed that the chicken is very similar to the original Mottled Leghorn and first reached the shores of England in 1851.  They are known for producing large numbers of white eggs and it is at times one of the prime egg-producing breeds in Europe, and joined American farm flocks in the 19th century.  There are two varieties of Ancona chicken, one is a single comb and the other one is a Rose Comb. The avarage lifespan of an Ancona chicken is upto 8 years in the wild.

Angus Cattle also known as Aberdeen Angus worldwide comes in two different door varieties, one is red Angus and the other one is black Angus. Both these are Scottish breeds of beef cattle that are native to the agricultural counties of Aberdeenshire and Angus in northeastern Scotland. It is believed that they originated in the early 16th century and the black Angus has developed over time to become one of the most popular cattle breeds in the U.K., Australia, Canada, and the United States. 5. Ayam Cemani

The Ayam Cemani chicken is one of the completely black animals that was believed to have originated from Java in Indonesia, however, the exact origin place is still a mystery, however, it is a result of a cross between the green jungle fowl and the red jungle fowl. They have a dominant gene that causes hyperpigmentation (fibromelanosis) making them almost black including their feathers, beak, and internal organs. 

They are considered status symbols and kept by wealthy families who care for them, however, because of their mystical appearance, it is said that they have magical powers and can act as a medium between the living and spirit worlds. Black panthers are a type of wild cat found in America, Asia, and Africa. These sneaky animals are known as black jaguars in Latin America, black leopards in Asia and Africa, and black cougars in North America. The body length of a black panther is between 7 to 8 feet and the average wieght is between 100 to 250 pounds. The dietary habit is carnivorous in nature and feeds on birds and reptiles to large mammals. Black panthers have large and strong paws and sharp claws that are used for hunting. The Ava age lifespan of black panthers is upto 12 years in the wild and 20 years in captivity.

7. Black Saddlebags

Black Saddlebags is one of the black animals whose scientific name is Tramea lacerata and belongs to the family Libellulidae in the order Odonata (dragonflies and damselflies). Talking about its appearance, they have two dark blotches on each hindwing along with memorable markings. These skimmer species typically stay in flight and rarely perch for long. The body length can grow between 1½–2¼ inches and the bodies are shorter than their wingspan. It is also known as Jagged-edged Saddlebag and can be identified with the help of flying, four, blotch, ink, marks, and wings.

8. Black Squirrel

Black squirrels are mostly seen across North America and belong to the family Sciurus carolinensis. The body length is between 15″ to 20″ including the tail and they have been seen feeding anything that is offered, however, they often feed on nuts and acorns, any kind of seed, fruit, insects, and even bird eggs. The mating season occurs in winter starting in December to the end of January. The avarage lifespan of black squirrels is between 5 to 10 years in the wild.

Black Swan is one of the long neck animals whereas adult swan is mostly black except for their broad white wing tips which can be seen during the flight. The bird species is native to Australia, including Tasmania, and is mostly seen across Australia’s south-eastern and south-western wetlands.  The primary diet includes aquatic plants and algae.  Black swans also require long stretches of clear water of at least 40 meters for take-off and after the breeding season, the bird molts and loses all its flight feathers.
