They feed on small crabs and even beetles.

2. Black Drongo

As the name of this bird implies, this bird is extremely black in color. Interestingly, it has a forked tail and makes snappy movements when it flies. Caution! These birds are way too aggressive, especially when it comes to their territory or food. There are only a handful of birds who dare to mess with or stand against this bird. It is because of their dominating personality, that they are named as the “King Crow”. There’s a nice thing about them that the small birds prefer to stay or make a nest around theirs as it keeps them safe from predators.

4. Common Myna

This beautiful black and orange bird is as long as 23 cm with a shiny yellow-tipped bill and thick yellow legs. Interestingly, this bird has found a place in the list of Top 100 Most Invasive Species List. Know why? It is because the IUCN Species Survival Commission has found this bird a threat to human interests, biodiversity, and agriculture. But, this bird is a blessing in disguise for the Indian farmers as it eats all those locusts and insects that destroy the crops. That is why, it is also known as Farmer’s friend. It is also listed as one of the black birds with yellow beaks in the world.

5. Indochinese Roller

Seeing these birds is a treat to the eyes. They are very beautiful. The Indochinese roller has an average length of 30-34 cm. Their conical beaks are thick. These birds are most commonly found in pasturelands, rice fields, and plantations. Moreover, their diet includes locusts, wasps, moths, crickets, and other large insects. These birds have an amazing capability to catch prey, by tumbling, diving, and rolling. Also, when it comes to their territories, they become very aggressive. So, beware.

6. Eastern Spot-Billed Duck

These dark brown birds are as long as 55-63 cm. They have vibrant orange legs and a yellow spot on their bill. These birds do not dive, rather, they feed on the ground. It’s only the male species which is known as the peacocks, it’s peafowls for the females. This is a happy-go-lucky bird. The color combination on the body of this bird is so unique and gorgeous. They can be commonly traced in dry scrubs, open forests, cultivated lands, and various other habitats. They usually keep away from forests with dense plantations as it becomes difficult for them to fly. No doubt that these birds are very beautiful, however, they are invasive too. They are a major threat to crops and a region’s biosphere. Not only that, these birds are quick learners, so the efforts to exterminate them are completely a waste of time. They were also used as bird fighters by humans during the 19th century.
