1. Vicuna

Vicuna usually weighs less than 150 lb and grows 60 to 72 inches long. It is found generally in the Andes Mountains of South America. It can live for around 20 years. It has an extensive, soft, and gleaming wool-like brown and white colored coat over its shiny body, round head, long neck with yellow-red bib, long limbs, and sharp teeth.

It runs at a speed of 47 km per hour. Moreover, this species is exploited for its luxurious and posh wool which is also used in making majestic and valued dressing pieces. It is an herbivore and nourishes o small plants, grasses, herbs, and shrubs.

2. Vampire bat

The vampire bat is a popular vampire animal that grows between 5.9 to 7 inches tall and weighs 19 to 57 grams. It is found in the tropical and subtropical areas of Central and South America. It has a life expectancy of up to 12 years. Its body has short brown fur on the upper side and downy silver-gray color on the lower side, sharp teeth, and a unique leaf-shaped nose. It runs at the speed of 8.58 mph. the vampire bat is a cause of harmful diseases known as rabies. This bat is sanguivore feeding on cows, birds, and pigs.

3. Viperfish

Viperfish usually weigh 10 to 15 grams and are 12 to 24 inches long. It is found in the waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. It has a life anticipation of 30 to 40 years. Viperfish has shiny body varying from green, and silver to black in color, large and sharp teeth, a pivot skull, and a massive stomach. It is a carnivore breed of fish feeding on small fishes, plankton, crustaceans, and shrimps.

Vole grows up to 3 inches to 9 inches long and weighs 6 grams to 20 grams. It is found in the swamps, farmlands, towns, gardens, grasslands, moorlands, and health land of North America, Alaska, and Mexico. Its life expectancy varies from only some months to 2 years. It has a furry, heavy, and small body ranging from gray, brown, red, black, or white color with a short tail and sharp teeth. This small mouse-like creature can run speedily at 6 mph. It is a herbivore species of rat feeding on grass, plants, seeds, herbs, roots, tubers, bulbs, and even barks of trees.

5. Verreaux’s sifaka

Verreaux’s sifaka grows 17.7 to 21.6 inches long and weighs 3 to 7 kg. It is found usually in the deciduous and evergreen forests of Madagascar. Its body is covered with white and silver soft, thick fur, a blackish-yellow face with a brown colored crown over the head, and black-colored hands and feet. It is a herbivore monkey and feeds on natural vegetation like fruits, flowers, leaves, bushes, and barks.  It is one of the amazing animals that start with V.

6. Vampire squid

Vampire squid weighs around 1 lb and grows about 12 inches long. It is found in every deep ocean water of Tropical and Subtropical oceans. It has a life anticipation of around 10 years. Its body color is usually reddish-black and has eight webbed arms with suckers at termination. Its eyes are red or blue in color and astonishingly, one of the largest eyes known. A male vervet monkey grows 17 to 24 inches long and a female is 11.8 to 19.5 inches long. The weight of the male monkey ranges from 8.6 to 17.6 lb and the female has 7.5 to 11.7 weights. It is found in the coastal forests, savannas, and reverie woodlands of Southern and East Africa. Life anticipation is known to be 12 to 24 years. it has olive green or silver or grey fur over the body, black fur with fewer tips of the face, hands, feet, and tail, and eyes having a white boundary. This omnivore breed feeds on shoots, barks, bulbs, fruits, flowers, roots, eggs, and small insects.

Variegated squirrel weighs up to 500 to 900 grams and grows nearly 20 inches long. It is found everywhere on the trees of North and Central America. It has a living period of about 8 to 12 years. its body is orange, brown, black, gray, or white, with brown underparts, ears with yellow patches, and a long tail covered with long fur, tiny hands, chubby soft cheeks, and four sharp front teeth. These species run very fast with a speed of 12 mph on trees, branches, and wires. It is a herbivore species eating various fruits, nuts, and flowers.

9. Vaquita Marina

Vaquita grows around 4 to 5 feet tall and weighs nearly 90 lb. It is found in the marine water of Mexico, California, and the United States. It has a life expectancy of around 21 years. Vaquita has a grey or blue small and round body that is paler from the underside; its eyes have dark-colored boundaries and dorsal fins bigger than its body. Vaquita is also acknowledged as a sea shepherd or little cow. It is a carnivore species and nourishes small sharks, fishes, shrimps, and squids.

10. Virginia opossum

Virginia opossum grows about 12.9 to 37 inches long and weighs 1.9 to 5.9 kg. It is found in the streams, swamps, and human habitats of North America, northern Mexico, and Southeastern Canada. It stays alive just for 1 or 2 years. It has a grayish-black soft furry body with a long pointed head, small tail, round ears, big whiskers, sharp claws, and 50 sharp teeth. It is an omnivore species and depends on fruits, nuts, small insects, birds, eggs, flowers, and even remains of dead animals. It is a dangerous animal and can attack anyone when feels unsafe.

11. Vancouver Island Marmot

The Vancouver Island marmot scientifically known as Marmota vancouverensis endemic to the high mountains of Vancouver Island of British Columbia. The animal species can grow between 65 to 70 cm in the wild and the avarage wieght is between 3 to 7.5 kg. The avarage lifespan of a Vancouver Island marmot is upto 10 years in the wild. It is one of the largest species of marmot compared to other marmots along with other rodents. Archaeologists have found bones of marmots and high-elevation caves 800 to 2600 years old. The fur color is an important clue for judging the age of Vancouver Island marmots.

12. Vanga

Vanga bird species come as small to medium-sized bird species only seen in Madagascar off the southeastern coast of Africa and Comoros which is an island nation situated off the eastern coast of Africa. The size varies between 12 to 32 cm in length. Talking about the appearance, the bird species are mostly black, brown, or grey above and below it is white. Vanga feeds on insects, earthworms, millipedes, lizards, and amphibians, however, there is an exception like blue vanga and Chabert’s vanga make take fruits.

The velvet asity scientifically known as Philepitta Castanea is a bird species that belongs to the family Philepittidae. The bird species are endemic to Madagascar and prefer to thrive in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. The bird species likes to eat berries and other fruit in the undergrowth. It can grow between 14 to 17 cm and the avarage wieght is between 34 to 42 gms.

The viceroy butterfly is a brush-footed butterfly that can mimic monarch butterflies because monarchs were toxic and distasteful to natural predators, however, the viceroy butterfly is not. The adult feeds on nectar, however, they have also been seen feeding on dung, carrion, and fungus. The butterfly species fly differently in the form of a flap, flap, and glide. The butterfly mate in the afternoon and females used to lay their eggs on the tips of poplar and willow leaves. It is one of the amazing animals that start with V.

15. Vagrant Shrew

The vagrant shrew scientifically known as Sorex vagrants is a unique medium-sized North American shrew species. It is also known as the wandering shrew. It can reach between a length of 1.25 to 2 inches and the avarage wieght is between 0.12 to 0.36 ounces. The animal species feed primarily on forest insects, slugs, and earthworms, however, occasionally they have they are feeding on salamanders and other small vertebrates. The vagrant shrew is widely distributed among the regions of western North America, from Columbian Plateau, Snake River Plains, and northern Great Basin, west to the Pacific Ocean, and east to the Continental Divide.

16. Visayan Spotted Deer

One of the animals that start with V, Visayan Spotted Deer are also known as Philippine spotted deer, prince Alfred’s deer, Visayan spotted deer, Visayan deer, philippine spotted deer, and prince Alfred’s deer. The avarage lifespan of Visayan spotted deer is between 15 to 20 years in the wild and the avarage wieght is between 25 to 80 kg. It is scientifically known as Rusa alfredi with a head and body length of 128 cm along with a shoulder height between 64 to 77 cm and a tail length between 9 to 12 cm. The avarage lifespan of Visayan spotted deer is up to 20 years in captivity.
